Michael McCann- Non-Executive Director

 

Mr McCann joined Energy Strategies in early 1997, having been a founding member of energy auditing and consultancy firm Energy Partners, since its formation in 1990. From 1999 to 2008 Michael acted as Business Development Manager for Energy Strategies, identifying and delivering a range of new consulting opportunities across Federal and State Governments, within the private sector and with NGO’s and internationally. 

Michael’s long standing involvement in the development of the energy efficiency and renewable energy industries has left him with a keen grasp of the issues in energy markets. His knowledge and experience spans energy production and end-use, technology and economics in most industry sectors.

He has been at various times involved in raising venture capital for new technology, been involved in media production for print, internet and TV and run research and development projects, and marketing, behaviour change and education campaigns.

From 1997 to 2002 Michael was editor of Australian Energy News, a glossy colour quarterly magazine which he produced for the Federal Department of Industry, Science and Resources that had more than 30,000 readers. Michael has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Canberra University in 1983.

Michael is presently Managing Director of Uniflow Power Ltd, a Director of MyCarpools.com and manages research and consulting projects through his private firm Thinkwell Australia Pty Ltd.
