Energy Efficiency for Small Business Program (EESBP)
This Program provides generous subsidies for small to medium businesses in NSW to reduce their energy consumption and thereby reduce their energy bills.
Specifically, NSW OEH:
- Subsidises the cost of an initial energy assessment to the tune of 75%
- Provides funds for our organisation to project manage the of upgrading/retrofitting of your premises – we do all the work, you get all the gain
- Provides substantial funds (up to $5,000) to assist in the purchase of energy saving appliances and equipment, on a dollar for dollar basis.
Part 1 - Energy Assessment
- A site visit is conducted on your premises. We look at where and how you are using energy within your business.
- We will need your energy bills (electricity and gas) for the last 12 months
- A report is sent to you outlining where you can save energy and thus trim your electricity and/or gas bills. The report includes approximate costs to retrofit your premises and estimated payback times
- Cost is either:
- $75 (if you have an annual electricity bill of less than $5,000) or
- $150 (if you have an annual electricity bill greater than $5,000 but less than $20,000)
Part 2 - Physical Retrofit
Retrofit items are identified through the Energy Assessment and can include:
- improved lighting
- better pumps/motors
- upgraded insulation
- more efficient heating/cooling
- better refrigerators replacing old inefficient units
- replacing hot water systems
The NSW Government will then subsidise any improvements to business infrastructure dollar for dollar, with a maximum payment of $5,000.
